Greetings, I picked this up, from the back of a guy's van.... for $175, from what I can find on the net is that it was built in Montreal in the late 60s or early 70s and is a clone of the Traynor YBA-1. Haven't played it much but it sounds really nice so far, it has pair of RCA 7027As and huge transformers. I'm cleaning it up and have to recap it and replace the power chord, the cabinet is a kinda poorly built partical board affair so I've put metal corners all the way around to stiffen the thing up a bit (think the tolex may have been holding it together) Anyway, an empty tube socket hole has me thinking about that one tube reverb, I think there's room for a small tank in there. Just curious how one would detirmine whether their transformers are beefy enough to handle an extra tube? Unless anyone happens to have a schematic for these things I'm going to attempt to draw it out sometime. Cheers.

I had one of those on my bench. I'm 90 miles from Montreal and I figured I see another one some day.
The transformers are big and I am sure another 300ma would not tax the iron one bit.

Sweet, ya, I'm in Calgary and bought this from a guy who was driving from Ontario to Vancouver. I'm thankful for guys bring out cool gear from the east, I'd never seen a lifco amp before. I also bought my favourite bass, an 85 stingray from a guy who brought it back from Ontario, I don't know if we get the best selection of vintage gear here in Calgary as cities with more vibrant music scenes.
One more question is that there's one 80uF 450V cap in there, would replacing that with 100uF effect anything being I don't see 80uF from hoffman amps. there's two cap cans that I'm going to replace with normal caps, just leave the cans to keep the holes plugged.

Yes, 100uf/450v will work fine........
