Post by: stingray_65 on October 01, 2010, 02:10:28 am
I found a few odd compactrons  and was wondering if any one has any experience with using them in a guitar amp

6HV5A http://www.nj7p.org/Tube4.php?tube=6HV5A amplification factor 300!

6AC10 http://www.nj7p.org/Tube4.php?tube=6ac10 triple triode amplification factor 62

Yes. If you need a new one NOW, you are in a bind.

Otherwise they are the same guts as the dual-tube, just 50% more per bottle.

Thanks guys

I'm looking at building a couple amps from my junk pile.

An experiment in frugality so to speak.
