Does anyone know of an octave doubler that does 2 octaves down, 1 octave up, and does NOT add distortion? I'd actually prefer to find one to buy but they all seem to have distortion. Every lead doesn't have to sound like Hendrix, as great as he was. Who makes a beast like this?
Thanks,
Dave

The EHX POG2 will do that and more. It doesn't add distortion (as far as I can remember). You can even store settings.

Yea, the POG 2 and maybe micro pog?? I think the new Boss PS-6 has two separate octaves now too.

One I can recommend that is not very expensive used (the last time I looked), is the old MXR Blue Box that Dunlop has re-issued. I realize it only goes down, but there are mods out there to also "brighten" it up. Not sure if that would work for you tho...
Back in the 70's I used to use two chained together with very little octave effect with an ADA Flanger in front of them. Full up they would give a great drive/fuzz. I was a huge Pat Travers fan back then and found that is what he used to get those classic Boom Boom out go the lights and snortin' wiskey tones. If you turn down the drive, it tracks nice and clean.

The EH looks good. Well, I'll let my son decide. It's for him.

I would give my dad a big bear hug if he got one for me.

Josh (my son) is 31 and I'll be 61 next week. We've been working together since I started teaching him when he was 13. He's far faster than the old man ever was and he's catching up with the nuances. A couple of weeks ago, he asked to borrow my old Strat. I never use it since I built one with 24 1/2" scale. I had been using it for a wiring test bed so I rewired it to a sensible arrangement for him. He wanted to buy it from me (it is really sweet). I thought about it but as it was his birthday a week before, I just gave it to him. That made him happy! Over the past 10 years, I've given him a Yamaha SG2000 (the best solid body I've ever played but far too heavy for my old back) and a Gibson Explorer. My feeling is that he'll end up with all of them anyway so he might as well get some use out of the stuff I don't need anymore.

Well done! At 31 I am sure he appreciates it. All of my kids have an interest in guitar/music. I bought a cheap Squire strat for them to play/share. When (if) they show a real interest I will get something for them to call their own. The 15 year old has formed a band with his buddies and finally started playing in a more serious way. I heard him play "Smoke on the Water" one day! Boy that brought back memories. I pulled up a video of it on You Tube and he said "people used to look like that?" I think I will find a special something to put under the tree for him this year.
