That looks good.  The sloped corners are very nice.  Did you just keep trimming with a razor untill it fits or is there another way?

Hi guy's, i just used a laytex type which gives you some working time. Like i said this was my first time with tolex as i have used standard vinyl before. Using tolex wasn't as hard as i thought but the corners are not easy. The tolex tutorial in this forum was a good guide. As for the corners i just gathered the tolex together and made the first trim with scissors and neatened it with a knife
. Don't know anything about the dryer. Thanks

AH, the dryer.

When you're using contact cement, wrinkles in tolex can be your undoing. a quick 3 minutes in the dryer and the tolex softens like glove leather, lets you stretch it a bit too.

I use the dishwasher to clean car parts, I bet your Mrs would love to see you do that LOL... then the hair drier would seem like a small deal.

LOL I'd starve to death. I went about it in the wrong order. I should of started with the dishwasher or dryer, instead I started with the hairdryer. I use a heat gun set on low but that is some what clumsy to do. The clothes dryer would make it way easy that I could tolex a cab in about 10 minutes, especially during the colder months. Tolex gets pretty stiff during the winter.

The dishwasher is great for all that drum hardware too.
