Hi, all
Ive been reading on this forum for a month or two now and this is a wonderful site ! :occasion14:
Thank You Doug ! :wav:
And thank you to all who make this place happen ! :hello:
Any way, Im a newbie to computers, this is my first one. Should have got one a long time ago :BangHead: Its a PC with windows 7, and Ive had it for a little over a year. I can do simple things, like E mail, get around a forum and read, post simple things, but Im having no luck understanding how to open the JSchem files :cussing:
I down loaded the files from here but I cant get them open. Im thinking I need to down load some kind of file to open them, because when I try to open a file a box comes on the screen saying no associated program. I am also having a hard time with the JSchem. I was able to down load it from Dougs post here but when I try to open it a warning strip comes up on the screen across the top saying something about active content, and the screen is filled top to bottom with different codes.
I have seen many different schemos, layouts of tag/turret boards, chassis layout templets, and face/back plate layouts/templets here on this forum which all look great!
I would sure like to learn how to use these tools
Any and all help/direction will be greatly appreciated !
Thank You , Brad

JSchem is a good program.
You can also try ExpressSCH which is also a free download.

Hi all,
Tubenit thank you! I down loaded ExpressSCH and got my neighbor to come over and help me, and we got it open! :toothy9:
Took a little while, but we got it. We had to figure out how to unzip the files.
Learning how to use a computer reminds me of when I was first learning how to play guitar. Each new chord was a -- BIG -- deal and I just didnt/couldnt get it at first but I wanted it so bad, I wouldnt give up. Now that was a long time ago and I had more patience back then, but I think I can hang in long enough to learn some things on a computer with out throwing this thing out the window. So right now this is a big deal to me just to do something as simple as opening a zip file.
Id like to say --- Thank You --- to all of you who have posted so freely, sharing so many hours of R&D work. Dont let anybody kid ya, still a lot of good people in this world and it seems like a lot of them are showing up here.
Thanks, Brad
