Also ended: my most cherished bizarre guitar dream.
Seriously, I don't know what to make of this. Evidently there are still collectors with money to spend out there- maybe it went back to Japan?
It is a pretty cool guitar, however...

That one looked like it survived the test of time very well, that said.....I remember my dad throwing away a puke green colored Teisco much like that one when I was a kid.... Something minor broke on it and he told me that he got it at Kreskies (now K-Mart) and it wasn't worth fixing.....
That said, every guitar he purchased since that one has been better.... but certainly not the classic Japanese Cheesecake that the Teisco is...

Six Gs for a cheesy Jetson guitar... This is silly, even for a model in near mint condition with case candy - I love the 45 rpm instructional audio.

That's about 100x what I'd pay for one of those...

Ahhh, flatwounds! Those were the days. I had that exact case for my old Strat back in the '60s. Not a good fit. Had to use a foam block to keep the body from moving around.

I have a Teisco Bass sitting around here waiting for some electrical work.... It belongs to my uncle who played it in the late 60's and early 70's in garage and bar bands. He's interested in having it back in working order for old time's sake. Actually the neck (although laminated) is pretty decent to play, the body/neck joint is very clean and tight... unfortunately the hardware is old Japanese Cheese-metal. For most people, I'd say hang it up like an Applebee's decoration instead of fixing it. In his case, I think the Teisco is a piece of a lost youth.
