i just changed from mallory caps to sozo and rewired my 18 watt build. the new grounding scheme definitely quieted down the hum i was living with from my first build. when i started it up it sounded great at low volumes. as i played up the neck i found that a g# note caused a nice little noise ringing along with the note. it is coming from the speaker. it sounds like metal against glass. a weird ringing.
it does not occur when i use the amp as a head just as a combo. it is in a pro jr cab. other that tubes being replaced what would be some other places to check? i will post a few pics tonight. it will really sound great when i find this noise.
thanks,
doug

Probably microphonic tube(s). Check if they are secure in their bases. Use the gentle tap test in order to find the culprit(s).
