Title: Happy Surfin' Turkey Holiday
Post by: Madison on November 27, 2010, 07:34:04 am
I usually don't do surf but what the heck.
Got the Strat working right, might as well give it a shot.
Peace.

That is the awesome stuff!  Who played the bass and drums, your bandmates?

You could outdual the 5 6 7 8's with that!  Actually you could release that, it sounds real.

Actually I wrote a surf punk thing real quick lately.  Maybe I can get it up and running.
The project we are working on is pretty stimulating to creativity.

Thanks Gents.
You guys surf kings certainly know more about that genre than I.
Really fun to play that stuff.I should do it more often.

I've had the hankering to do some more, just need to find time.

Winter is always a good time to do that sort of thing.

With respect, Tubenit

About where I am at.
No yard work, got all my firewood chopped/stacked/cured, and watching the winter wheat grow.
Just regular work now.
I hate winter weather but don't really mind the cabin fever.

Thanks a lot!

Aren't you in Hyogo-Ken?   The winter can't be that bad there...

Very catchy and not all that complicated. The only disappointment I had was that it wasn't longer.  Where's the longer version that you hinted at existing?

I didn't make a longer one for a couple of reasons:
-I have too many other projects and the original arrangement is basically just a repeat of what I did with a drum solo.
-I just know I'll never get back to this.
Anymore, I feel it's better to share stuff and not collect dust like all the other songs I have sitting on the "not shared" shelf. Life's too short and the world's getting "a bit nutty" Austin.

I much prefer the original version to most covers of this. Just the sound and pace are cooler IMHO.
Anyhoo here is the 1966 original (a long version?)

>>Hyogo-Ken?

Nope.Okayama Pref., half way between coasts, in mountains.
Chilly, rarely snow but nothing like the old tundra of MN.

I like your version better.
