Title: Chgo. blues great Little Smoky Smothers has passed
Post by: Willabe on December 02, 2010, 10:53:12 pm
Hi all,

Dont know if you guys have ever heard of Little Smoky but he mentored Elvin Bishipe (man I wish I could spell!!) and many others. I had some guitar buds (from when I played in the Chgo. blues clubs) that were at the wake and they sad Elvin was there to pay his respecs. Ive seen him a number of times up close (club held maybe 100/120 people) and he was the real deal! Double threat of guitar & vocals! Not many of the old 50s/60s guys from Chgo. left around any more. Just thought I post the sad news.

Never heard of Little Smokey but have seen EB in concert. Yep, all the old blues heads are passing away one by one. I know one reason I hang on to my 335 copy because of the lasting impression Freddie King left with me seeing him live in the 70's with Eric Clapton. I may never manipulate that 335 like he did but I can certainly have fun shooting in that direction.  Plate
