Title: Can I go for a smaller tank?
Post by: toomanyslurpees on December 03, 2010, 11:41:35 pm
So I'm finally getting around to ordering all the caps and such to get this old Lifco amp up to snuff (I just finished cleaning up and strengthening the cab so it no longer wables and the front doesn't fall off) Anyway, I was going to add this one tube reverb to it that's under the favorites section. I picked up a reverb tank but failed to realise that it just fits in the head.... as long as I don't try to put the power tubes back in.... will a smaller reverb tank work with that one tube reverb? I don't do surf or anything, just like have a bit of reverb. Cheers.

Anyone? Will it work if the tank is the same impedance?

yep - it'll work.  Beats mounting the large tank on the outside of the cabinet!

I recommend nothing smaller than an M1A1 Abrams!

I have put those short tanks in  lot of tight places and they work just fine.

Awesome, that's all I wanted to hear before I hit the checkout button. I'll share the results when I get this finsihed up.
