Title: The Rats Nest / DSL 100
Post by: plexi50 on December 04, 2010, 07:58:30 pm
I just finished moding a JCM 2000. It is the third one in the past year. I hate them. But now that i am sorta getting used to working on them i will say the sound is much improved with more bass and overall definition. It's funny how the revision 7 schematic refers to the amp as a rats nest. It is. Got to get that 22pf/500V cap off the board at the PT end of the board. C46. If C46 shorts to ground the power tubes go pop! The OT surge is to much for that cap. 22pf/1KV is fine. They say it is there for osscillation purposes. I have had no problem just removing it all together
