Title: screen/grid resistor
Post by: jeff on January 13, 2011, 09:55:05 pm
On a typical Fender output tube socket there is a 1K5 grid and 470ohm screen resistor mounted right on the socket. To wire a amp to take EL34's you need to remove one because you need to ground pin 1. I remember reading once that one of these resistors, I can't remember if it way the grid or the screen, works better if it is mounted directly on the socket. Is it the screen or the grid resistor that should be mounted directally on the socket?
