I just got a 6 month old border Collie named Gaia
She's a handful, but a real sweet heart.
Already started the training process.
She is so smart, picks up new stuff very fast.
Here she is playing in the snow with her buddy Cheyenne

Here they are lounging after a hard day of playing

Too cool! BC's are really, really smart. They are great dogs! You will probably have to keep her away from herding the bears! BC's are on the planet to put everything in order, you know!

I have a few friends that have border collies, fantastic dogs!
You're spot on about them being smart.
They do have the tendency to get mischievous when bored, but I see she has a companion, that will take a load off you.
a man can't have too many good friends, hard to find a friend better than a good dog.
you know, as quick and tireless as those BC's are she may make you a nice biking companion, I'd bet she'd keep right up every pace of the way.

She is already trying to herd the small kids.
She goes up behind them and tries to nip them on the pants cuffs.
She loves chasing the wild geese down at the lake.
It's hard to explain to people that she is not being evil, that's what BC's are bred to do
But people do not reccomend have BC's if you have small kids.
This is what she is doing right now

Great looking dogs! Looks like you picked a good pair of friends. Had some friends that had a pair of BC's. I went over to their house one day, went out in the back yard and the dogs started running circles around me and would not stop. My friend says their "herding" you.  They are very smart, maybe too smart. My wife and I have a beagle and a golden. The beagle figured out how to jump/climb the chain link fence in our back yard. The golden can jump the fence too but thankfully does'nt, but Emma (beagle) can't seem to help her self. Gotta follow that "noise". When I go after her she thinks were on the hunt and that she is doing good and that I am following her, (we live in the city, not out in the country, so not a safe deal) . Ever try to catch a 2 year old beagle? Yet when I take her on a walk she does not need a leash, give the command "Emma heal" , stays right at my feet. Go figure.

That was cute!

Cool!
A new puppy.
My neighbor had one of those.
Used to literally run circles around my White German Shepherd while playing fetch.
My mom had one too, it used to try to herd cars coming up the drive.....be careful!
My 1st choice for a next dog is a BC.
Looks like a swell doggie.
Have a great time.

Pup's like to chew on stuff, electric chords inclueded
I guess, if you let them.
They have to be trained not to chew on things except their own toys.
Neither one of the dogs has ever chewed on an electrical cord.
Some dogs do it out of boredom.
Lots of excersise and play usually is enough to stop unwanted behaviors.
The pup did grab my remote control the other day and mouth it around a bit.
I think she wanted to watch animal planet.

Hi, Doug.

Growing fast.
This was our baby for 11 years. He passed away a year ago. Busy with our toddlers now.

Wow, a stroller dog, I've only heard of those.
Sorry to hear about the pooch, that's way too sad for me to think about.
The black puppy was thin when I got her
She has filled out nicely.
