Title: A different FX Loop - would like to hear your opinions - thanks
Post by: kagliostro on February 06, 2011, 03:39:13 am
I'm building a guitar tube stand alone preamp

as an add on feature I want to add it an FX Loop

yes, I know the output of the pre is the "FX loop send" and the input of the power amp is the "FX loop return", but that is for a Serial FX Loop

As from my customer request (my son), I would like to have also a Parallex FX Loop

sometime ago I investigated about a passive parallel FX Loop, but now I'm interested in an active loop and it must be a little one, because I've not much room

something near the dimensions of this one

I've this schematic (schematic # 1) that comes from a well known brand of tube amps (I removed the reverb section of the circuit)

but looking for some ideas into the web I find this (schematic # 2) that is something different from the FX loop I've seen till now and add other functions

here the link to the original page with explanations: http://www.runoffgroove.com/splitter-blend.html

Please can you give me your opinion about the circuitry and (as I understand near nothing about SS) if this can be used at the output of a pre tube circuit.

Thanks

No one has anything to say ?

Do you think that this is a stupid idea ?

Don't worry whatever you think, please say it

I'm not experienced and need to hear your opinions

Thanks
