Title: Line out solution
Post by: firemedic on February 10, 2011, 01:19:26 pm
Hey all,
I've tried a few "line out" setups without much luck, but this one is the best I've seen so far. The others I've tried thinned out the sound a lot.
Though it's designed for a slave amp output, I put it in my TOS & recorded onto a regular old tape 4-track & it sounds real good. I used the 2.6k (I had a 2.7k on hand)/470R setup in the TOS & will try the lower values in my SE amp.
It looks like 5.5:1 is the magic ratio.

What does the 22ohm "soft grounding" resistor do?

I guess that's useful if you're not common-grounding to the chassis. I didn't use it.

It helps to quell ground loop noise.
