Title: Output transformer question
Post by: 67polara on February 20, 2011, 09:57:44 pm
I have a Magnatone bass amp.  It has 2 el84 in the output stage.  This amp is nice looking but the sound isn't all that.  I want to make it into a single channel Marshall 18 watt amp with reverb.  The only question I have is that this amp is ultralinear.  Can I use the out put transformer and just not hook up the other two wires?  Or does anyone have a schematic for a kick but amp that is ultra L.

You don't need to use them.  You just need to have a circuit that has a screen supply.   Make sure they are well anchored and insulated after you disconnect them.
