Well i bought another BM reissue last night and made all the changes today back to the 1972 BM Triangle. I did one of these a year ago and it was pretty decent. This one is just as good. I cant stand a stock BM pedal. But the Triangle and Ramshead Big Muffs are killer. Rarley use one though as blues and trower are my friend.

I'd love to know your approach to getting that Trower tone. Have you nailed it yet?

I'm a recent user of a BM. A forum member here produces a great version of the circuit over at DIYEffects.com, he calls it the BuMP...very cool indeed. I am finally able to get that Dave Gilmour tone I've always lusted after :)

Yeah i have the Trower power going. I think the greatest think i ever did was buy handwound pickups for my Tele and Stratocaster. Scatterwound pickups are the ticket. I get all the funk and groove from them even without effects pedals. Add some pedals and theres no difference between 1960 and now. There are a few different versions of the BM. I have ordered the original NOS Fairchild 2N5133 transistors from small bear that were in the Triangle BM. They used different transistors in later models but the original V1 Triangle version used 2N5133's. I dont expect to hear a major difference but who knows. I love the experimenting

Im thinking of removing C10 500pf cap to see what that sounds like. Online there is a page that says that C10 was left empty on a large lot of early triangle pedals and that this was a factory thing and not removed by owners

So as well as pickups, do you consider the BM to be an integral part of the Trower tone?

There sure is. I forgot the input grid 1M resistor is removed and the 33K input resistor as well an 820 Ohm from the sustain pot to ground. Revised messy schematic:

I love my RAT LM308 pedal but i love this one much better. JCM 800 & 900 in a box. I am using a Lab Series L7. Im loving this.
