Title: Peavey PV 500 stereo amp. How to use? How to fix?
Post by: TerryD on March 24, 2011, 03:34:07 pm
This was given to me because it basically doesn't work.

I'm really a drummer and need good clean power for to hear a CD in order to learn songs.

First question.  How do you use these plain power amp things?  There are no EQ controls.

Second question.  The breaker on one channel keeps clipping off as soon as you turn on.  The breaker itself seems to ...well, it does, spark and smoke.  Could the breaker itself be broken?

And might NOT the moon be made of cheese along with other wishful thoughts.

Thanks ahead for any help.

That sounds like there's a direct short somewhere in the amp to me, because of the amps some what violent responce at turn on. I would not turn it on any more untill you find it and fix it.

I can't help you with SS, but someone here can/will I'm sure.

I hope you'll be able to get it fixed.
