Title: another OT question
Post by: billcreller on April 07, 2011, 06:14:18 pm
Just another "uninformed " question;  When I replaced the OT in one of my clones to a better one ( Hammond to replace a cheapie) , the difference was amazing.
Now on to the question;  I would like to try the same OT in my Princerton Reverb clone.  Any harm in just wiring one in there for an AB test?  Both have 6V6 power tubes. Different bias arrangement, cathode, vs fixed in the PR.  I just had some throat surgery, so I'm stickin' in the house for a while, 'till it heals (and I can talk again) :icon_biggrin:  This is a great time to fool with the PR, which is my least favorite amp here right now. (tinny sumbitch)

Hey guys.... been away a while...

Bill, you're planning to swap them then right?  Not just wiring the frontend of the Hammond in there, while leaving the output of the original one hanging?  The AB reference made me ask that.

...and best wishes for a quick 'get well', too!!
