tubenit's "most emotional guitar solo" got me thinking about music I haven't listened to in ages. I saw Return to Forever in Central Park in either 1975 or 1976. Great concert! I also lived in Barcelona from Sept '75 to May '76, so got exposed to flamenco and Paco de Lucia. All this leads me to a video I just found of Al di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia playing a tune Al & Paco wrote:

I don't know about you all, but my left hand hurts just watching Paco de Lucia play. Heck, my right hand hurts too! The cool thing for me about this song is that it displays incredible technical skills but remains musical and emotional - even playful - throughout.
BTW the studio version is better musically for me. Al put Paco on one side and himself on the other, which is kind of funny because Paco pretty much torches Senor di Meola both technically and emotionally for me.
Cheers,
Chip
P.S. Who wants to convert my vinyl fusion records to digital format? Guess I really should set up the record player again. It's been over 6 years now...

That was great!
I had that album with that tune
Forgot all about it until hearing it again.
I also was a Chick Corea fan
Saw him live during the Stanley Clarke, Di Meola, Lenny White era
Funny story.
Stanley Clarke was introducing the next song
He started by saying, "This next tune"
Chick stopped him and said "This next tune???"
He was laughing out loud
I guess the word "tune" cracked him up.

I know it's not a guitar "tune", but Brubeck's "Take 5" is my all time favorite jazz song.

It is also my standard for playing in my HiFi.
If I move the speakers, or add a new doo dad, Take 5 gets played.
After I did a late night repair on my EV Aristocrat mid horn, I treated the neighborhood to a little classic jazz at around 125dB
Those EV's sounded great 2 blocks away according to Chief Kelly :l2:
I also took her advise that not everyone feels the groove at 3 am.
