I have a partially built acoustic guitar. It is a small OM size. I started building it in a class at a local store, but they went bankrupt before it could be finished. I don't have a shop so I can't finnish it myself. But I was thinking about paying a luthier to do so. Hopefully one who would barter.
My question is, can this be finished as a resonator guitar? I want one, and saw one used for sale, and that made me wonder about this.
It's one of those kits they sell at the luthier supply for $500.
Thanks,
Al

Unlikely. They are very different instruments, and some there are some decisions that are very different very early in the process.

Sadly,I believe you're right. It's just that when the class instructor held up a straight edge on the guitar and said this is what your action will be, I got depressed because it was so high. Maybe he's wrong. I know a good luthier and he might just get it right.
Thanks for the input Gabriel. I appreciate all the advice you share and the pics of your shop and builds.
