Title: Tube mic pramp?
Post by: dynaman1 on April 27, 2011, 10:34:23 pm
Interested in making something relatively simple with the ability to clip for a bit of vocal snarl. I've not the experience or fancy equipment to design from scratch so I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me to a suitable kit/proven design??

I've got a circuit but it's not simple nor is it a kit.  Oh I know.... The NY Dave 1 Bottle Preamp.

I was going to suggest the New York Dave MILA.  It was my first point to point build, after that I never wanted to touch a pcb again. I put an output attenuator on mine to dial in clipping effects.  It's my favorite mic pre.

NY Dave is a classy dude.  I haven't spoken with him in years.  I hope he is doing well.
