Title: Silvertone 1346
Post by: Tiny_Daddy on April 30, 2011, 06:13:57 pm
Silvertone 1346, looks like a 2-channel 4 x 6l6 amp with separate preamp chassis. Maybe 1953. It's kind of a mess inside. Schematic available anyone?

what's the tube compliment?  i can't find anything. maybe it's close to something else - i'm thinking it may be mfg. by valco.

I think that one was made by Danelectro, but I am no expert. I would love to see a schematic.
The '58 Silvertone 1396 might be close, but I am sure the preamp tube line up is different. Isn't there a 6SJ7 in the 1346? Love those 6SJ7s.
I have included a 1396 schematic for reference.
Best, tony

Thanks, that clears things up a lot. The 1346 uses 6SJ7  and only one 12AX7. The preamp box has no tubes and connects to the main chassis through two plugs: a 5-pin and a 7-pin. The output tubes' cathodes are all tied together and connected to the 12AX7 filament and a couple of power resistors which don't look original.
