I was about to order some contact cleaner from Antique Electronics , when I noticed there are a few different types of Caig Deoxit spray.... ( Deoxit D-100, Deoxit Gold G-100 , Deoxit Gold GN ). Is one "better" than the others for cleaning electrical contacts, pots, etc.

DeoxIT has many versions, D, G and F. They all have the same basic chemical (PROGOLD), D series is the basic cleaner/degreaser has less of the good stuff use this for general cleaning. G series has more of the good stuff, use this on connectors and tube/tube sockets, F series is for faders/pots (plastic friendly) with a lubricant. :icon_biggrin:

It's very difficult to understand unless you go here and read thier manual...

As I understand from reading the above link, the G is for gold surfaces and no need to spend the extra dollars.

Your gonna want the F series for cleaning pots and stuff like that. Gold is conductive use it on tube pins sparingly that stuff is potent if you spray into the wrong place you'll have problems.
I spay a little gold on a cloth or q-tip to apply it to preamp and power tube pins.
