This is a Brook power amplifier. It's a brand I've never heard of, but that in itself means little or nothing. I believe these were marketed as theatre amplifiers. This one has a pair of push-pull 2A3 outputs. Tubes: 5U4, two 2A3s, 6SN7 & two 6J5s. Looks nicely built, with laced wiring. I believe they used Hammond transformers, I don't find the output tranny to be any kind of massive megalith.
$3300.00?? With 18 bids, going up to $2500, $2700. $2900, $3100, $3150, $3200, $3250. Are you freaking kidding me? You mean this is worth a solid $1K more than a museum condition MacIntosh Stereo Amp?
What am I missing, is this a secret brand amplifier with the fetish value of a Dusenberg or a Bugatti?

I saw that too, and wondered. I'm guessing the collectible value right now is high.
I mean heck, how much were those stupid Beanie Babies going for back in the day? :dontknow:

Yes. Be glad you don't drink the kool-aid.

Quite rare and very highly prized by far-eastern audiophiles - I'm pretty sure that this amp will ship to Japan, Taiwan or Korea.

Some stuff goes for crazy money. I sold a pair of Western Electric preamps. It paid for almost 2 semesters at UT for my daughter. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Wise words. This kinda stuff is beautiful -n- all but to quote the guy who brokered my deal:
"They look great, and it's rare to find a pair in working condition, but truth be known when I listened to them, the mother-ship didn't land."
