my Hoffman 5E3 circuit is in a chassis with an extra knob hole on the control panel. Any ideas of what I can do with it? I don't want to embellish the tone/volume circuit with anything that would suck down the level (like adding a treb/bass t/s or something).., I have some rotary switches I could use ( a 3P2T make-before-break rotary, some 2P6T rotaries, etc) and all kinds of knobs.
I thought of using a 3P2T to switch between the .1 1st coupling caps to .001, and I thought about a one knob tremolo (ampeg style with a LDR in series with the signal., I can add a 12AX7 to get another triode stage.... but a trem with a only a speed knob? (i guess if the LDR was on channel no.2 before the volume knob, and if chan1&2 where chained together, that volume knob would be sort of an intensity knob...
anyhow, before I dream something up, I thought I'd ask people with more experience.

Maybe a one-tube reverb w/ no dwell control?

that's a good idea, I don't think my cab has room for a full size tank, tho.

I got a short tank, I think from tubedepot.com, but check doug's store first. It works great.

You can do lots of things like making treb & bass instead of only a tone control is a good one and make it switched to either bypass or ground lift the tone stack. Sounds really good on a 5E3-ish build. But, you can put in a presence pot w/ pp switching to swith out NFB all together, down all the way it's a simple NFB and turned up it's your presence control. You could also make a PPIMV or even possibly a VVR master power output control.

this is what I ended up doing. the 3 switches are ganged together in a 3PDT rotary switch.
