Came across this book by Norman Crowhurst at the MAKE site. Probably too basic for most forum members but posting link for reference by noobs like myself.

Pete Millett has all three volumes in PDF.  Actually he has quite an excellent library posted.  His site is totally worth getting lost in.

Pete Millett's site is amazing.  To preserve this information is a fantastic service.  I don't believe in heroes but librarians come pretty close.
