Punky, I'm no geek either, but try changing your Windows firewall setting...

*edit* Go to Control Panel, click on System and Security, then Windows Firewall, then Allow Program Through Firewall. That *should* work.

That's odd, I have windows 7 and had no problem down loading all 3. Figuring out how to use them was another story.

Change nothing. Windows Firewall does not control downloading of files. It controls program access to the internet.

This is probably an Internet Explorer security issue or possibly an antivirus/internet security program such as Norton or McAffee. Make sure IE8 internet zone security is set to Medium-High to allow downloads. To check it, run IE8. Click on tools-->internet options-->security tab. Click the internet icon and set the security level slider to medium-high. Click apply and OK.

If IE8 security was already set to medium-high, then you most likely have an antivirus/internet security program such as Norton or McAffee protecting you. Look for options in the appropriate program.

Also, you refer to jschem.exe. Where are you trying to download this file? The official file is named "JSchemWindows.zip" and is available from http://dhost.info/jschem/

What is the exact wording? There's probably a clue as to where the warning came from. Doing a google search on the exact wording will likely lead you directly to the solution.

I re downloaded "JSchemWindows.zip" from the site again.  I found the extract button and clicked on it . Now I can find jSchemWindows in the documents library. Is that where its suppose to be? When I try to open a sch schematic or sch layout it wants to open with Adobe Reader, the other option is Windows Explorer.  Both dont work.  I tried to change it to open with jschemwindows in the documents library and its a no go???? I never had any of these problems with Windows XP.

Sluckey, good to know! I just hunted around for something that made sense to me.

Go back and read the installation instructions on the download page, especially the note for Windows users.
