Holy Rapture day Batman! :angel So far so good and we're all still here?! :dontknow:
Saw this incredibley Dumb(le) sale from the ebay site on a Dumble power amp. $3550 US for some pretty crude construction and parts but because it's got the name on it I just shake my head.

Ha! It's a power amp from a Twin Reverb. Big deal!
-
Yes, but did you notice the eyelet board?
It's wood! Rosewood? Looks beautiful!
Hey wait a minute, doesn't wood absorb water? :think1:
Didn't Leo have a problem with conductive eyelet boards?
Brad :icon_biggrin:

I think (or at least HOPE!) that eyelet board is probably some sort of plastic faux wood substance- formica maybe?
As a DIYer, most commercial amps seem like a rip off to me, but it's a historically important (?) amp from a known name. That doesn't seem THAT ridiculous from a collector perspective. You could spend half that much on a RI Fender, right?

So that's his secret, wood boards :l2:
Here also for your entertainmnet is whats left of one of four amps he built for the Ventures. Notice the sepeate pilot lite for AC and DC power if I'm seeing that right?

Far out. I didn't realise Ken 'Fisher" made Dumble amps too.
