About a year ago I bought the complete contents of the "garage from hell" from a local ex-ham operator. Lots of WW2 radios and some test gear and about 1000 NOS tubes. The garage was packed to the gills, it took 8 trips in my Ford Explorer to drag it all home. Originally, I had thought I badly overpaid for the stuff out of "mercy". Yet I found that there are folks who will really pay up for WW2 surplus radios, and there were 20 or so Sylvania 6L6GA which are "iffy" for use in amps but which I sold for fair money. But two of the radios sold for 1.5x what I paid for the whole garage and another stack of radios I traded to the fellow who runs the Western Radio Museuam http://www.radioblvd.com/ (http://www.radioblvd.com/) (absolutely incredible website for those interested in old radio gear) for a clean Hickok 6000A Gm tube tester and a hp 712B power supply. Anyway, it all worked out nicely, money wise. But when looking over the gear I remembered a sleeve of NOS RCA 6V6GT and I was never able to locate it. Turns out I stuffed it into the back of a Deluxe Reverb (where else?) I am finally getting around to rebuilding after having it sit for at least 15 years. And there they were!

Their always in the last place you look. I'm always stashin stuff away that at the time makes sense, and I still can't find it.

Funny, but I remember you talking about the disappearing tubes. Glad you found 'em!

I've always dreamed of finding some old loaded tube electronic shop I could clean out for cheap. Glad it happened to somebody :icon_biggrin:
