hi
i have the following power transformers ,reverb deluxe and a bandmaster from a AA270 circuit, and both output transformers. my question is ...could i use either one of these to build a 18 watt stout? i want an amp with el84s.... and will there be a sound difference by not using the pt or ot made for an 18 watt?
anyone response would be appreciated. thanks, attilio

The Deluxe Reverb & Bandmaster power transformers will put out more voltage than the EL84 tubes can handle.
You can look in Hoffman Library of Schematic and look at the PT voltages on those original Fender amps.
You want something something preferably less than 350v on the EL84 plates if going cathode biased. I would want something closer to 305-315v or less.
