Title: Tele bridge route question
Post by: worth on August 12, 2011, 09:49:36 am
A lot of modern Fenders are routed to allow the use of different pickups other than a single coil. Without my removing the bridge-plate assembley on my '98 Americen Standard Tele.... does anybody know if the body under the bridge has been routed for the alternate use of humbuckers. I realise a different Tele bridge assembly would have to be installed for a humbucker. ( I don't want to use a single coil - size humbucker. )

I can not say specifically, for your 98, but I've not seen a Genuine Fender Telecaster routed for anything but single coils.

The exception would be the MIM reissue Custom, Deluxe, and Thinlines that were routed specifically for the reissue Lover WRHB's.

I've recently recommended this forum:

Friendly like this forum, just everything Telecaster, Lot of VERY informed people on there

No.. my '98 American Standard is routed for ANY configuration under the pickguard. Right now I have a humbucker - shaped Gibson P-90. So , I wondered if the same was true for the bridge route.
