Just wanting to avoid any really big stupid mistake. the orange shield wire on the primary side of the Hoffman PT #022798 goes to ground.......correct? I checked it with a ohmmeter and got some resistance so i just wanted to make sure.

Hey Dixie!
I'm curious as to where you measured this resistance.
I'm ASSuming one lead from your meter to the orange wire, the other to the mounting screw?
And how much is a little resistance? <1ohm?

Ray,
ya know, I am going to test it again to make sure. I had the PT at my office and did a quick check thinking it may be connected to the case/mounting screw etc. when I saw resistance I didn't let the thing settle long enough to get an accurate reading but I will bring it home this evening and let you know.

between the black wires and orange wire i am getting anywhere from 2M to 2.5M.
