hey folks, sorry if this is nonsensical sounding but i got a weird one here,
I have an old solid state Roland gc-408 with a broken input jack on the low channell.
I have gone to replace it but noticed the terminals i have on all my jacks have the switching plates on the other side of the input jack to the roland type.?
So if i install one of these new (normal to me) guys; signal coming from the guitar will be switched out of the circuit as opposed to into the circuit?
Does this make sense? Can one buy these weird ones or am i overlooking something glaringly obvious and potentially humiliating!
thanks

If the jacks mount on a panel and have wires connecting to a circuit board it's not a problem. Just wire IAW the schematic. But if the jacks are soldered directly to a pcb it could be a big problem, depending on the schematic.
There may be a work-a-round for a pcb mounted jack that is also attached to the front panel with a nut. You can place the jack over the pcb but with the legs pointing up (like a beetle on it's back). Then solder wires between the legs and the pcb. Reinstall the pcb and finally just attach the jack to the panel as usual.
Show us some pics of your old jack and pcb and your new jack.

Sorry PRR i don't understand the reply! hope i didnt post anything weird?
Every jack socket in the amp was this same config - and one the imput board is mounted ther was no room to do fly off leads.
I did take sluckeys's advice (thankyou) and took one of the output jacksockets of the easy access outboard and replaced the input jack socket with it - and used the new (backwards ) jack socket with flyoff leads to replace the output.
all was well - i only had the amp for a day so i had to act fast - i would like to get a few of them weird ones for future like for like replacements if they eve pop up again.
thanks for your help i really appreciate i!
