Title: What Do I Have Here?
Post by: blown240 on October 19, 2011, 04:15:35 pm
Is this a Cap or resistor and what value is it?   I tried looking it up, but have no idea what it is.

Thanks!

With the RN number I would guess this is a resistor. Do you have a volt/ohm meter?? You could try connecting each lead to the two meter probes and dialing it to the ohm setting. I would guess it is a 5W 4.7K Good luck.

If I read the data sheet right it is a 475 ohm, 1 watt, 1%, 500 volt metal film resistor.
