Got this switch at the NAPA auto-parts store. On the pegs near fuses.
Heavy, chunky, NICE feel. THUNK.
Bilge Pump Float Switch, Primarily For Navigational Lights, Push - Pull Type (SPST); Brass, Plastic, Stainless Steel Springs

Product Line: Balkamp
$9.99 /ea
Chrome-Plated Brass Face Nut & Backup Nut, Chrome Plated Plastic Knob, Push Off Position / Pull On Position, Mounting Stems 1 1/4" L x 3/8" dia., 25 Amp At 6 VDC / 15 Amp At 12 VDC Rated Power

The picture and description do not match mine. My knob is solid metal. My stem is actually 1-1/8" long, maximum panel thickness 1". The guts are silverish not brass-tone.
The 12V rating discourages use as power or standby switch. It might work fine, it might zap you, it might work but only a few times before quitting.
I'm thinking "Boost" or other signal switching.
There is another model with more contacts which may be a "car lights" switch (off, park, headlights). Normal, boost, turbo?

If the other model is a headlight switch it should be rated for about 12v 40amps,
It will have several posisitions.
1. OFF
2. Park Lights and dash lights
3. Park lights, dash lights and Headlights
It should also have a rheostat in it to control interior lights. There should be a set of terminals on it that gets more or less voltage to dim the dash lights.
Theoretically, if it would take the power, it could be:
1. off
2. standby
3. ON
and the rheostat could be volume or gain.
It would be pretty sweet! 1 knob to control all that!

I've one of that push-pull spst switch (not so nice construction)
I got it from auto-part store many years ago, and didn't use it till now
if I remember well that was used as a general purpose spst switch
usually to add fog lamps or some other high consumption circuit
How to use it ..............................
some use in the speaker circuit ?
to add a dummy load as to lower the output power ?
or maybe with a relay as to act also HV circuits ?
