I'd like to start by thanking all that helped me bring my SC 120 back from the dead! At the moment I'm using this celestion speaker;
which was in this old battered cab;
that old cabinet was starting to fall to bits so I rehoused the speaker in the only thing that looked solid enough that was going spare ( isn't finished )
I'll be buying some new speakers soon so just wanted to ask, what type of speakers are 'the norm' for an amp like the SC 120? Cheers!

That amp needs something British.
I'd go for Fane speakers. http://www.fane-acoustics.com/guitarspeakers.aspx (http://www.fane-acoustics.com/guitarspeakers.aspx) There is a 90% chance that the original cabinet that Sound City made would have been loaded with them. Fane were common in non-Marshall British amps (Hiwatt, Laney, Sound City)
Fane held on to British Manufacture too as opposed to many speaker manufacturers that moved everything to China.
They are not the least expensive, but they are the "right" speaker for that amp.
