This F20 was rewired a few years ago and I think the original wiring was different.
I took my best guess on old photos I had.
Shielded wire was used throughout.The original wiring was a mess and at the time I couldn't do anything on my own.
Which way is the better way or does it make any difference?
Everything seems to be working at the moment.
I had to rewire the toggle switch to solve a toggle going dead problem.

New wiring diagram: It looks like the signal ground to the jack (from the tone pot body) is unconnected to the rest of the circuit -- unless the pot bodies are mounted on a metal plate or conductive foil.

Going further:
1. Noise Reduction: FWIW my preference, derived from www.guitarnuts.com (http://www.guitarnuts.com) is to strictly separate signal ground from chassis ground. This entails that no signal ground (or pot lug) is ever connected to a pot body. 2-conductor shielded signal cable is run to the output jack: one wire carries +signal, the other wire carries signal ground. The signal ground wire and the outer braid are connected at the output jack. The other end of that braid is connected to a single chassis ground location in the body of the guitar.
2. Tone improvement: Also note that when both PU's are selected they will load ea other, which can muddy your tone. This can be prevented by a resistor in series with ea PU's +wire to the SW. The value of the resistor should be 1/10th (or a bit less) of the nominal value of the vol pot.

Yes they are on a foil which is on the underside of the pickguard.
It's a bit confusing because it is a tremolo guitar so a little different from Duncan's example.

Here's the official factory setup I got from a pal.
I can tell you it is way, way quieter and the pickups are better balanced as well.
You have to add a the wire going to the tremolo claw from the volume pot.
Also the pots they are using seem to have a custom taper.

Yes, this is the same as the Seymour Duncan diagram. Except, the SD diagram loooks more complicated, because it shows unused coil tap wiring. Note the placement of the tone cap. It may go between the vol & tone pots; or after the tone pot to ground. Either way is the same result.
