I have a couple of old amps with the old spring type reverb.  I would really like to add a tap tempo to my pedal board.  What do you guys really like in tap tempo reverb/echo units?  Any hints on what to look for appreciated.  I would go as  high as $250 but hope I don't have to invest that much on a single  pedal.
Thanks!

				Speaking of Electro-Harmonix............
Got a "Deluxe Memory Man with Tap Tempo being shipped to me right now.  They are not cheap but I really liked the various usable sound effects."  Think I will go through my entire sound board and reevaluate the performance of each box.  i'm excited needless  to say.

You might look at the TC Electronic "Flashback Echo".

I was recently at a Guthrie Govan performance and he had one on his pedalboard, so I looked into it a little more.  That link above has a pretty comprehensive video showing its features.  I don't have one myself but Guthrie had it on all night and it sounded good to me.  Looks like a pretty good bang for the buck too.
...and here's something else to chew on - in this Larry LaLonde rig rundown he's got two different delays on his pedal board.  Actually two Carbon Copies and another analog delay I can't recall.  In the video he shares his thoughts on 'em and give a very brief demo, FWIW.

				Thanks John,
I appreciate the information.  I am still waiting for the Deluxe Memory Man.  It is the nice looking blue new unit.
I will update when I have a chance to check it out.

I do not like the Memory Man... I think it sucks too much tone and the delay is too short for me. I have a Carl Martin Delayla and have had it for several years. It is the best sounding echo I have ever heard next to an echoplex.

i forgot about the delayla...i have the carl martin red repeat, based on it. it is a nice circuit, lotsa variability and smooth sound. still like my deluxe memory boy better tho. FWIW, i didn't care for the original memory man. justa - how's that new DMM?

My main delay is a Line 6 DL4 that floats my boat. Normally $250.00 new, there are a million used ones on e-bay from $100 to $150. Also you get three programmable presets switches for a lot of varity. I've had it for years since they first came out and only problem I ever had was I let one of the switches get loose and ended up having to take it apart and doing a little repair to get the switch back in place. Now I keep an eye on those switch nuts to make sure they are tight. Platefire
