Title: Reverb Circuit
Post by: Jack1962 on January 02, 2012, 11:54:04 am
What's Up

I am wanting to add reverb to a Peavey Butcher , the original single channel butcher , I have 2 reverb tanks 1- Gribbs Manufacturing & Research Corporation (AO-23580-11) that I took from a Hammond L133 organ and 2- Accutronics (8EB2C18) that came from a Fender Blues Jr. what I need is a tube drive and recovery circuit that will work with either of these tanks . I have built the solid state circuit that goes with the Fender Bluse Jr. tank , however it requires a - and +15 volt power supply there is no voltage even colse to that in the Peavey Butcher.

                                                              Thanks For

You might want to check this out and see if there is anything you can use from this.

Your Accutronics unit has Input Impedance 800 Ohms, Output Impedance 2575 Ohms. It won't like any of the tube/transformer coupled drivers. You'll need a cap coupled driver such as in the last example in the thread tubenit posted. Or copy an old Magatone or Gibson cap coupled circuit.

Here is the schematic of an old Italian amp

GEM Super Deluxe Reverb 50 R

that don't use transformer in the reverb circuit

and uses a 6DR7 and a tube of the 12a*7 serie

Ampeg had some really good reverb circuits that didn't use transformers.
