Can 6V6's replace old 6F6g's? If so does octal socket need wire changes????  Thanks   Ed

6V6 will work in a 6F6 socket. The 6V6 is a higher power version of basically the same tube. 6V6 can replace 6F6 but not the other way around.

You may need to change the cathode resistor for best performance.
