Anyone offer thoughts or observations about using a Jensen F12NS field coil speaker in an instrument amp?
Markings are F12NS c5691 AO 21055 2S H3
I believe it came from a Hammond M2 organ.
Main use would be harmonica.
Thanks-
Jim

It came from an instrument. If it's in good shape it's a good speaker. You would have to design the power-supply of the amp around feeding the field coil (it makes a choke). Keep the amp below 20 Watts, The M2 amp put a very clean and tame 11 Watts.
F12N: F= Field Coil 12= Size and N is Jensen Model (there are plenty of differing opinions of the actual watt rating).
AO21055 is the Hammond Part Number. Odd that it doesn't have a 220XXX number as that is Jensen's manufacturing code.
