Title: I can't get enough of this
Post by: Madison on March 03, 2012, 07:07:44 am
FREDDIE KING Boogie Funk 1973 live! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBWID1ygQbo#)

I should actually post this in the "guitars" section.

Showing my lack of knowledge here.(and age)
I haven't owned a 335 type guitar (in this case in the video a 345) but...... so they have that "woody" tone!?
Holy moly, I gots to get one.

I have a good line on those guitars.
Opens a lot of tone avenues I bet?

BTW, who was that band.......Boston?(who I will always have a soft spot for.Saw them, they were GREAT in concert)
" Smokin' "......haha right, I never realized.
Ain't got nothin on Freddie.

Well, that's a 355.  Top of the line Gibson Thinline.  You can tell by the split diamond inlay in the headstock and the block inlays on the fretboard.  The 345 uses dual parallelogram inlays on the fretboard and no headstock diamond inlay.  Also, when the video first starts you get a close up of the pickups which have Gibson name embossed into the covers- this was only done in 1973 or some 1974 guitars, so you really can nail town what year guitar he was suing here.
Great video!!  Thanks!
