Title: circuit for a low wattage amp
Post by: Leevi on March 17, 2012, 05:55:52 am
I'm looking for circuit for a low wattage (1-2W) amp.
Would it work in a known SE amp (like Champ) if triode mode is
used instead of tetrode mode?

My suggestion would be to use a VVR with a single ended amp like a Champ or the SoLow Watt.  The VVR is only $30 and very easy to install.

That's fully true Tubenit. A VVR makes that possible, even dynamically.
Is it enough to use VVR only for the power tube?

I found this:

Can there be used some other Mosfets if the current and voltage specs are fulfilled?

Leevi,

I have pretty limited knowledge of the VVR.  I think I've used them in 4 different amps with success but I always used Dana Hall's VVR which is inexpensive and easy to install.

You'll have to sign up to see the schematics, but I think there are numerous VVR schematics for single ended amps here:
