well..

i need to make a amp for my son in law .
and what to do .

he has bumble bee caps in his guitar and loves playing blues .a little jimmie hendrix, pink floyd ,
he's forming a band ,and has been offered some free recording time .

so he needs to have something on a small  stage and to record with ..
if possible .

also my daughter plays trumpet in one song and  thats one loud insturment to play against .

I have 6v6 tubes,,,,, one pair .6l6gc ,some 6l6gb ,, 8bq5..,6k6 gt .
and 12a x7 s  ,, 12at 7 ,,

so i keep going back and forth between build ideas ..
with no idea what to do ..

now ,,I am thinking
about tubenits versions ..Geezer  tweed bluez meister

thanks for asking ..any ideas ???

Yes the lugs are back in stock finally

My lug guy forgot to fill a 30,000 lug backorder I had.
I went to the shelf looking to fill the lug bin with more lugs, but there were no lugs on the shelf.
I emailed lug man and he said he did not send the 30K lug backorder.
He said it would be 6 weeks before he could make more......

It left me in a bad spot.
Moral of stor: Don't ever go into business for yourself and count on suppliers.

Long story made short, I thought I had a reserve of lugs on the shelf when in fact I had none.

I got a small order of 15,000 on friday to hold me over till the big order is ready to ship.

Tom, I think Geezer's HoSo would be a great amp to start with. Just my opinion, but if you're just getting started building I'd do without the "psuedo channel switching". Simpler build, a bit few parts, and you won't tear your hair out figuring out the relays and how to keep the hum out. (well, I did anyway)  It is a great sounding amp! Puts out maybe 12-15 very loud watts, perfect for gigging. And if you use a fairly large chassis (I got DirtyDawg's 19") it's very forgiving about layout, grounding scheme, and just plain sloppy work.  :icon_biggrin: My re-build is looking much better inside so far. Oh, and just sub the 6V6's for the EL84s (different pinout of course) and you should be very happy.

well
i am glad for you its turning out ..
no havnot completed a guitar amp .

i took electronics in school ,,,, transitorites ..
we built circuits .drew  schematics .
and  i was not taught  to make circuits like we see. the  resistors wire had to be folded under itsself and then attached ,,be it underneath or at the ends of the resistors.
so in the real world i donot see this ,
i repaired a few organs,,,, brain twisters ,,,,  and a three stereos and my tuner and my magnavox stereo amp with 4 6v6s ,

i am working on a build ,,,MY HARP AMP
an ampeg m12 .for now .. and its messy, but everything should work out . i need some pots and two small parts ,, then  finish the job ..
that was a  brain twist for a bit ..making the  layout work out  ..6sl7 s and 6v6 s

i hope it works .

and i have a working baldwin  amp that pushes 4   el 84 and and 4 12ax7 ,,to make an amp with .but i ..need to buy stuff....

my son inlaw s amp needs to be nice
and my daughter needs a bass amp,,  oh so much to do ..
