I've got a Build Your Own Clone pedal kit and came across a couple of helpful videos on soldering. I only worked with a PCB once before before and that was adding a single component, so it seemed like a good idea to go over the basics.
How to Solder Correctly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_NU2ruzyc4#) nice, in part because it addresses what NOT to do and how things can go wrong.
Soldering Iron Wattage vs. Temperature (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh9pWu6K6tc#) Yes, hotter can be better provided that you move quickly.
Then I watched a video from The Tube Depot (IIRC) where the guy repeatedly did NOT make sure his components could not move while soldering. Talk about what not to do...
Hope someone else finds this helpful,
Chip
