Title: Chassis heat?
Post by: stratavox on June 08, 2012, 06:12:16 pm
In a 5E3 and a 5E5 build- both amps have the chassis above the tube/PT section hot to the point of not being able to keep my fingers on the chassis for more than a few minutes. Normal? TIA for your thoughts-

Normal. As long as you have adequate ventilation in the back of the combo, it will function normally. (i.e.: don't stick it up against a wall)

Minutes?? I've had tube amps, I didn't want to hold more than a few *seconds*. Didn't hurt them none.
