never knew fisher made consoles... maybe it's a garrard turntable - can't tell. if i had the scratch to spare, i'd give it a home.

The most luscious system I ever met was an all-tube mono Fisher console. Quad 6V6 cathode-biased by the preamp heaters. Monster woofer. Not what we'd call "accurate", but wonderful to listen to.
Those 1969 sand-state amps were not bad: I knew where the defects were surplused-away and repaired a few for my own use.

picked up the fisher in the link below friday afternoon.

is it worth restoration? overall it's in decent shape - front panel is in very fine shape, some light pitting on chassis - wood cover is long gone. output tubes are shot, 1 output and 1 preamp tubes were broken.

$20 is nice.... but what is it? 500? 600? What power tubes?
I don't think you are going to fix it so as to be worth the big bucks to a collector. Probably a dandy shop-amp.

sorry, it's a model 400. uses 7868 tubes. all of the 12AX7s are smooth-plate telefunken. i plan to use it as a bench/garage unit with a pair of 80's JBL bookshelf speakers - i forget model no.
based on fleabay and other URL sources, i ascertained it doesn't sell for insane $$. i was just wondering if it was worth restoring to listening to, not so much value.
much thanks for the feedback.

$100+ for a set of power bottles. Very point-to-point construction, right? In this case, I'd favor stripping the iron for a new chassis with 6L6GC.
