Mesa Mark IV... I was told Mesa found this one intriguing.

They must have built it for a NAMM trade show?

I used to have a Mk. IIc, never took to it. Seemed very stiff to me and half the time I couldn't tell if the verb was even on.   :dontknow:

Way cool haha.  I owned a MKIV and MKV then grew tired of the touchy nature of these amps.  They sound great if you don't move them haha.

I am surprised that the amp doesn't hum or pickup excessive noise due to the lack of shielding.

First thing I thought of when I saw that amp was imagined a clear cab to match and then that 70's clear--was it Dano guitar with one pickup. Of course then there would be the clear apparel that you would need to wear with it, that wouldn't be good! Let's just stop it with a clear head.  :dontknow:    Plate

On my Stiletto II, V1 is right beside the OT's laminations.  It's surprisingly quiet, as well.  Goes against what I've read.

I doubt that Ronnie's plugged into a Mesa Boogie though...

on a recent beastie boys tour (sadly, i think there won't be anymore...) all the gear was like this. ampeg stack, drums, turntables, even the rolling risers were clear.

So would that be a (rim shot) Plexi Mark IV?

Seems a shame to make a clear cabinet and then not route the reverb wiring a tad neater since you can see it. Gigged with a Mark IIC for about a year and a half in the early 90s. It was the only channel switcher I owned at the time (had to have it - hate pedals) and it was a middle of the road bar band so it fit the bill. Never bonded with it. Great clean tone but the OD sounds were just meh. Way too tweaky and way too touchy.

Well since we discussing Boogies, mine is not one of the well known models and was actually discontinued late 90's but I just haven't got nothing bad to say about the sound and operation of my Rocket 440. My first Boogie but the experiance has been good for the three years I've had it. Platefire

I wish I still had my DC3 head - 35 watts el84s - crushing, tight gain and sparking cleans!  Such a compact lil guy, too.
