Title: Hoffman AB763 Board tryout
Post by: triode on July 27, 2012, 06:16:45 am
Customer of mine in France got his board installed and was so happy he sent a short clip which puts the amp through its tone paces, thought you all may find it interesting. This was in a Deluxe Reissue, straight up Hoffman AB763, M150 caps on the
tone stack, SBC Orange Drops on the phase inverter and reverb, metal film resistors in the power supply and plates and
carbon comps in the tone stack/coupling. Stock iron.

Fender deluxe reverb 65 airtight garage point to point AB763 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GlLO9UjrXQ#)

No doubt, the young man can play. Got a real good feel for the blues.

He even plays a lick from Climax Blues Bands live album, "So Many Roads", and nails it too. About 58 seconds in.

Nice job on the board build.

I can't even hear much hum with the Tele pickups
The Tele sounds great through that amp!

Have him demo the vibrato if you can
Would love to hear the Tele demoing the vibrato + Reverb

Was that a 3 spring tank?

I will ask him to do a little vid with the trem+reverb. Yes that is a three spring long delay.

Yeah, the tele sounds better than I thought it would through that amp.

That is quite impressive!  Beautiful tone to it.  Nicely done.

With respect, Tubenit
